Tangled Garden
The only way to enter Beverly McClare’s Nova Scotia garden is by
slipping under an arched bower. As if passing through a botanical
rite of passage, you brush through a complex tangle of groping
branches twirling around supports. A frenzy of sprouts and tendrils
salutes you, and you escape into a heady world where textures blend,
aromas float, and spicy flavors tingle your taste buds. This is
Beverly’s version of a welcome.
