 Forget Me Not
She was the gardener in the family. Well actually, she was the first gardener, because they all eventually became gardeners, but Karen was the instigator. She was more than that, really. In her capacity as the senior Clineff sister, she served as cheerleader for cosmos and champion of chelone, waging a persistent enlistment/education campaign. This conversion process met with no resistance whatsoever from the siblings because, as Kindra often says, “we were a pod.” That is how the younger sisters came to have full-blown gardens intact, conveniently poised, ready and willing to receive whatever superfluous botanicals Karen might spare from her bounty. And that explains why the world’s most lovingly tended lady’s mantle now dwells in the gardens of the three remaining sisters.
