Here is a place where you can tell a specific story. I've received so many letters over the years. Some funny, some touching and some just unbelievable. Like the story of one mom who's baby came WAY too fast. Her little one was born before she could get to the hospital...you guessed it...on her Claire Murray rug!
Claire was so touched by the story, she sent a new rug as a gift. As you can see, rug and baby are doing fine.

I just bought my first kit and I must say it's great fun. And very easy to do! I can't wait to finish it.

hello,
I am new at rug hooking but not spinning. I want to use my own yarns but am having a problem. I think I'm spinning way to thin and what can I use besides burlap, I don't like it much.HELP??

Thank you to Bobbie, from our Osterville store and Nantucket store ladies, Gail and Barbara for this response.
"The yarn in Claire's rug hooking kits is 6 ply. When you are spinning try making it 6 ply." More help is only a phone call away. Call Bobbie in Osterville at 508-420-3562 or Barbara in Nantucket at 508-228-1913. These ladies will be happy to help anytime.

The first time I saw CM rug hooking kits was back in 1990 and I wanted to purchase Springtime Fantasy (sm). Well, over the years I didn't purchase the kit but never forgot my favorite pattern. Oddly enough, my husband and I honeymooned on Martha's Vineyard. It was he who chose the hotel which I didn't realize at the time was only a 5 minute walk to the CM store. I purchased two kits and one of them was Springtime Fantasy! We met Bobbie at the Osterville store and she was absolutely wonderful. Because I never rug hooked before, she took the time to show me. Thank you Claire Murray and Bobbie!

I have done many forms of needle work but never tried hooking rugs. I've bought two of Claire's simpler rug designs but with no one in the area who does hook rugs to show me, I am a bit reluctant to start. I have instructions but I am a visual learner and learn quicker by seeing rather than reading. Is there anyone in the Worcester, MA area who is willing to teach an eager beginner? Thank you in advance. (In exchage, I can teach anyone who is interested in cross-stitch, needlework and stained glass.)

Hi Janis,
If you are able to get to the Cape, we offer several classes in our stores. If you can't make a class, one of our ladies would probably be able to give you some help. The Cape isn't too far from Worcester and it would make a great day out for the family!
