View the paintings on auction
For the last several years I have spent most of my summers at my island cottage in Canada, and my winters in historic Old Naples, Florida.
I travel extensively for business in the autumn and spring, so I decided it was time for my beautiful, historic, colonial home here on Cape Cod to have a new family. It is simply too lovely not to be lived in and cherished all year.
The decision to sell my Osterville estate has prompted other decisions.
For instance, what plans do I have for my extensive art collection, since it requires a great deal of space to exhibit it properly?
Perhaps because I am an artist myself, collecting the work of other artists to fill my homes has been my passion for over 30 years. I suppose the logical thing would be to put my collection in the hands of an art dealer: it would certainly be the simplest approach. But the more I think about this, the more I feel I would like to have a more personal involvement with finding homes for these remarkable works of art. My art collection is representative of my lifestyle, as my life’s work has been creating art for the home through my rugs and many other home accessory products. It will be clear to those of you who have collected my work for years that there is a synergy between the artwork I have chosen for my own homes and the products I have created for you to enjoy in yours.
My private art collection will have a certain number of paintings made available during each auction period. The minimum bid price represents the price for which that particular painting would be offered to a gallery. We have done our best to provide information on each artist. Please forgive us if there are any oversights. It has been a challenge in some cases to locate information on the artists, particularly if the work is from the 1980’s or the work was purchased outside of the normal gallery process.
I hope you have as much fun viewing this collection as I have had putting it together.
