Showing a blithe disregard for the serious pursuit of angling, a group of women from the Pensacola Coast are out to challenge male-dominated views of fishing. Attired in fashion-conscious rubber boots and hot pink accessories, the Fishin’ Chix are stirring up the Gulf’s waters. Led by self-described, “no trout about it, ‘President’ and ‘Flounder’” Claudia Espenscheid, the ladies are landing fish, shrieking with delight, and bringing a feminine style and levity to the pastime.
