“If you can go back to when you were eleven—being
tossed by the surf was fun then. As we get older, things change for us. We need
to be in control,” says Bev Sanders. Bev has made an occupation of gently
guiding women into breaking waves to remind them that no matter how old they
are, they can still be free.
Founder of Las Olas Surf Safaris, she and her
team have taught more than 2,000 women to ride the waves of the Pacific and
beyond. These executives, artists and homemakers, travel to Mexico, stand on
a piece of fiberglass in a moving ocean and learn who they really are. As Bev
says, “We make girls out of women.”
