“If you can go back to when you were eleven—being tossed by the surf was fun then. As we get older, things change for us. We need to be in control,” says Bev Sanders. Bev has made an occupation of gently guiding women into breaking waves to remind them that no matter how old
they are, they can still be free.

Founder of Las Olas Surf Safaris, she and her team have taught more than 2,000 women to ride the waves of the
Pacific and beyond. These executives, artists and
homemakers, travel to Mexico, stand on a piece of fiberglass in a moving ocean and learn who they really are. As Bev says, “We make girls out of women.”
