Personal Passages

I walk in the dark up a trail meandering through woods. The air smells of dew, and my flashlight beam bounces across the dirt before me. Voices ahead and behind come and go—a titter of laughter, a stretching sigh. Our goal this pre-dawn is the top of a mountain, and yet in the immediacy of this moment, where the path will lead me remains a mystery. This seems a perfect metaphor for the week. I have come here to be just like this light in the night, without a clear view backward or forward. Instead I must trust in the moment. As the sun turns the sky pink, I reach the summit. My legs are tired, but the rest of me is completely awake. And that defines the goal at the Golden Door Spa, to awaken its guests to infinite possibility.
